The resort of Zürs am Arlberg

The highest resort in the Lech – Zürs region and also the most upmarket, Zürs am Arlberg sits high on the exposed Flexen Pass on the way into Lech am Arlberg. Ski buses, as well as bus services after the lifts have closed run the ca. 4km by road between Zürs and Lech. Accommodation is generally very good to extremely high end and much of it is either ski-in, ski-out or certainly slope-side. Skiing takes place on both sides of the resort and the snow record in Zürs am Arlberg is second only to Warth in the entire Alps.

Walking between the resorts is not really practical like it is between Zug and Lech.

The skiing in Zürs am Arlberg

Generally speaking, the Zürs am Arlberg section of the Lech – Zürs ski area offers a greater amount of more demanding skiing in terms of both ski routes and on-piste skiing. The skiing takes place on both sides of the valley and resort and the main road in Zürs is straddled with ski bridges. From Zürs it is possible to start in the western section of the ski area, ski into Zug, on into Lech and then back around into the Zürs ski area. This ski route which broadly follows the famous ‘White Ring’ ski circuit is a must for anyone staying in Zürs with a reasonable level of intermediate skiing.
