Oberlech the resort
Located some 200m or so metres above Lech am Arlberg, the satellite ski holiday resort of Oberlech is one of the most exclusive destinations in the Alps. Buried under huge quantities of Arlberg snow, the superb ski-in, ski-out hotels of Oberlech enjoy superb views and immediate access to the slopes. Oberlech is totally car-free throughout the winter which really adds to the atmosphere. There is however a cable car connection running between Oberlech and Lech down in the valley. The cable car runs throughout the day until after midnight to allow those in Oberlech to sample the facilities and atmosphere of the far bigger resort of Lech in the valet below.

The accommodation in Oberlech is generally very upmarket and facilities in the hotels are mostly excellent. These facilities however do form the entirety of the resort amenities – there is little or nothing outside of the hotels / accommodation in Oberlech. For those looking for further attractions from this location in the heart of the Lech ski area, the Oberlech cable car links the exclusive resort to the busy heart of Lech am Arlberg. The cable car runs until after midnight and offers the opportunity of residents of Oberlech to wine, dine, shop or stroll on the magical streets of Lech am Arlberg.
Skiing from Oberlech
For skiers and snowboarders the proximity of hotel ski rooms to the Arlberg snow and ski pistes is a major draw. Located some 200m above the base-stations of the Lech ski lifts, those staying in Oberlech have the chance to cruise the Lech slopes before any others. The ski terrain around Oberlech is generally pretty easy and all but early beginners should generally find few problems in this region. The Petersboden chair lift leaves from Oberlech and can take guests further into the Lech ski area before the masses start to ascend from the valley below.
